Background
The Nuku’alofa-based SPC, Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE) is a regional set up aimed to;
a. Up-scale and replicate success stories in renewable energy and energy efficiency (RE & EE) and
b. Conduct targeted private sector activities in capacity development, knowledge management, and innovation, awareness raising, as well as investment and business promotion.
The Centre has a strong focus on the private sector and industry while supporting targeted RE & EE programs to enhance the productivity of key industries with high job leverage (e.g. agriculture, tourism, fishery, manufacturing, creative industry) and the creation of a local sustainable energy servicing and manufacturing industry.
OBJECTIVES
i. To raise the awareness among the private sector and the business community in Fiji on the existence of the PCREEE and the services provided; and
ii. To identify the priority needs of the private sector and the business community in Fiji with regards to capacity development in the areas of renewable energy and energy
efficiency.
OUTCOME
Establish an agreed work plan for the PCREEE to implement for the private sector and the business community in Fiji during its First Operational Phase: 2018 – 2021.
